My name is Nathan Clark and I’m from Youngstown, Ohio. The music scene out there is almost nonexistent with the exception of cover bands, but I had a few friends exploring how far they could take their rock bands. My first experience with DIY shows came from supporting their efforts in the only two places they could play. The first ‘venue’ was a house on the West Side, where the floor was close to caving in. The other was the bowling alley, Strikers (I believe they have since changed the name), where all the equipment was on sectioned-off lanes.
I moved to LA in 2018 to attend USC. My first local scene experience came from the talent adjacent to the university. Five years later, I average a show a week. It started as a way to support friends but along the way, it has become a much larger part of my life. I am grateful for the amazing people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting and I know this is only the beginning.
